Spiko Secures $90M Series B to Expand Tokenised Cash Funds

Spiko, the Paris- and London-based issuer of tokenised cash funds, has raised $90 million in a Series B round led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA), bringing its total funding to $120 million. The round drew participation from Index Ventures, Bpifrance, Speedinvest, Flourish Ventures, Shapers, White Star Capital, Blockwall, Frst, EQNX, Mirana Ventures and Wintermute Ventures, alongside angel investors including former Bundesbank president Axel Weber and the founders of Qonto. The raise underscores growing investor appetite for onchain treasury products that combine regulated money market funds with the programmability of stablecoin infrastructure.

Spiko designs its own regulated cash funds—ranging from intraday-liquidity products to fixed-term ones—denominated in euros, dollars, sterling and Swiss francs. Businesses access them through a desktop and mobile app, while other companies and financial platforms can embed them via an API. Spiko Finance is licensed as an investment firm by France’s ACPR, and client money is held by CACEIS Bank, part of the Crédit Agricole group. The company now manages $2.7 billion, up more than fivefold in 12 months, and serves over 10,000 businesses and individuals across 25-plus jurisdictions, including startups, scale-ups, research institutes, public institutions, VC funds and medical practices.

The pitch rests on automating cash management: finance teams set rules once—keeping enough in an operating account for payroll and suppliers, parking the rest in an instantly accessible fund, and locking quarter-ahead cash into higher-yielding fixed terms—and Spiko runs those rules around the clock, adjustable via API by a treasury system or an AI agent. Spiko claims to be the largest issuer of tokenised cash funds ahead of BlackRock and Franklin Templeton, citing RWA.xyz data. NEA’s Philip Chopin said the firm is „the only one that’s solved the regulatory piece and the product piece at the same time.”

Founded in 2023 by CEO Paul-Adrien Hyppolite, a former deputy head of the financial markets division at the French Treasury, and Antoine Michon, a former technology adviser to the French government who led deployments at Palantir, Spiko will use the new capital to launch new funds, enter new markets and grow its team—building local operations in Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and the Nordics. Revolut co-founder and CEO Nik Storonsky is also an investor. „Every person and every organization holds cash, yet whether it earns anything still depends on who you are and how much you have,” Hyppolite said. „Yield should be universal.”
